on team camaraderie and that is only
going to help in tile next two con-
tests. The mindset of tile Braves is to
win and play hard withont giving up,
according to the Braves head coach.
"'No one gave tip no matter how
many times we had bad breaks or
Ilags thrown against ns," stated
Smith. "The biggest keys defensively
was that our coaches recognized the
Titan offense plays, and our two out-
side linebackers Kersten Keplin and
Chris LaFountain were the two most
physical players out there all game.
They were all over the tiekl and those
two individuals really stood out all
game. But Briley Crissler, Brandon
Delomle, and Skyler Poitra also were
key for us by totally controlling the
defensive line."
In the contest, the Braves were
flagged lbr 121 yards in penalties
while the Titans only had 45 yards in
penalty yardage. I)espite that factor.
the Braves held it together as a team,
said Smith.
"Chugger broke a single game
school record of 309 yards just last
week against Rngby. Now with these
215 yards, he has set the single sea-
son mark fbr passing yards. Chugger
is doing all this without making
many mistakes, lie made the phlys
arid made the right decisions and he
really knows his reads. He's leading
like a quarterback should, and an-
other tiring I want to mention is onr
team play mentality. Wc were at the
two yard line, and the kids were call-
ing the phlys on their own. John
Slater came up to me and said we
should run Q-power and we'll get in.
He didn't call his own number, but he
saw how the defense had been lining
tip. As coaches, we need feedback
from our phiyers and we have to lrnsI
in our players. We gotta believe in
them and we saw right there how un-
selfish a player John is. He made an
unselfish call and he was right, we

did score."
The Braves were battling a home
team and very gusty conditions
throughout the contest. The Titans
don't rely on the passing game as
much as the Braves, so it was a tough
night for Davis to air out the football
with unpredictable and strong cross-
winds.

Chris Smith, Belcourt head coach
caused a fumble and recovered a
fumble. There were so many of our
guys who made important contribu-
tions. Our long snapper, Kyle Men-
otto, made a clutch snap with 11
secouds left and kicking close to our
own goal line, with a strong wind
against us. Leo Belgarde was able to
boron one into a 35 mile an hour
wind. Leo kicked it from our ten yard
line and Dickinson ended up on their
own 45 yard line after we covered the
kick. There were a lot of highlights,
but all I can say is that the kids
earned this win," Smith pointed out.
Coach Smith added that the Davis
touchdown pass to Fox was one of
the plays of the week featured on
KMOT-TV of Minot.
"That was an amazing catch by
Geraldo (Fox) and and just an amaz-
ing throw by Chugger (Davis) in that
kind of high wind," Coach Smith em-
phasized.
The Braves are now 2-5 on the
season and 1-4 in the 2A West Re-
gion will host the Bismarck St.
Mary's Saints oil Friday and the Bot-
tineau Braves next Tuesday (Oct.

the lead to 12-8 at the half when Kyle
Azure found the endzone on a 38-
yard run.
The Raiders would essentially put
the game away in the second half,
scoring the first two touchdowns.
TC's Dustin McClintock ripped
through St. John's defense all night,
scoring on runs of 94, 83 and 76,
yards and finishing with 17 carries
for 422 yards. The 'Chucks final two
scores came in the fourth quarter. The;
first was on a passing play betweff,
Keifer Langan and Lorne Jay and the
second coming on a 46-yard touch-
down pass fi'om Langan.
